The unit consisted of :

• Two Solenoid valves
  • Plastic valve body has 1/4 NPT inlet and outlet and a strainer
  • A rubber diaphragm valve seal
  • A stainless steel cover, plunger and spring
  • a metal retainer with three screws
  • a 24V, 50/60 Hz, 7W solenoid coils assembly
• An electrical controller box
• A 100-240V- 50/60Hz, 0.6A input, 12V output, power supply/ transformer
• A touch sensitive panel with 3 sections ( hot, warm and cold)

The system functions to convert a regular lavatory/ kitchen faucet to a hand free/ touch system wih an automatic shut-off ( a meter type)
The solenoid valves are intended to be installed between supply stops and a faucet.



The evaluation uses the following assumptions:
1. Water flow rate of 2.2 gallon per min
2. The metering controller is set at 10 seconds or 15 seconds on and automatically shut off
3. The regular faucet is left on during the duration of each usage
4. The Auto Touch Facet System is operated twice for each usage
5. The duration time of each usage was estimated
6. A family of four in a household
